Emma's New Laptop Disaster
Emma worked as an office manager. Every day she answered emails, prepared reports and organised meetings on her old computer.
Unfortunately, the computer was very slow. Sometimes it needed five minutes just to open one file. Emma said,
"I think this machine is older than my grandmother!"
One Friday, she finally bought a beautiful new laptop.
The laptop had a large screen, a comfortable keyboard, and a very fast processor.
Emma was excited.
However, there was one small problem.
She had used only a smartphone and a mobile phone for years.
Every time she wanted to open something, she touched the laptop screen with her finger.
Nothing happened.
She touched it again.
Still nothing.
She looked confused.
Her colleague watched her for two minutes before asking,
"Emma... why don't you use the mouse?"
Emma looked at the little mouse next to the laptop.
"Oh... I thought it was decoration!"
Everyone in the office started laughing.
After that day, Emma learned how to use her new equipment properly.
Now she works much faster.
She even says she doesn't need a calculator anymore because her laptop does everything for her.
Today Emma loves working with modern digital technology—but she still sometimes tries to tap her laptop screen before remembering the mouse.
📖 READING COMPREHENSION
