The Best Birthday Surprise

Tom has loved Pink Floyd since he was a teenager. He has listened to their music for more than twenty years. His favourite songs are Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb. Every weekend, he plays their albums while cooking or relaxing at home.

Last month, Tom celebrated his 45th birthday. He didn't want a big party or expensive presents. He only wanted to spend a quiet evening with his wife, Emma.

When Tom opened his birthday card, two concert tickets fell onto the table.

At first, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Are these real?" he asked.

Emma smiled.

"Yes! They're tickets to Pink Floyd. I know you have always wanted to hear Pink Floyd's music live."

Tom was speechless. He hugged his wife and thanked her again and again.

A week later, they went to the concert together. The theatre was full of people wearing Pink Floyd T-shirts. Some fans were young, but many were over forty. Everyone looked excited.

When the band started playing Another Brick in the Wall, the audience stood up and sang together. During Wish You Were Here, people turned on the lights on their phones, and the theatre looked like a sky full of stars.

Tom sang every song. He knew all the words because he had listened to the albums hundreds of times. Emma didn't know every song, but she enjoyed the music and the amazing light show.

After the concert, Tom said,

"This wasn't just a concert. It was one of the happiest days of my life."

Emma laughed.

"I think I already know what your birthday present will be next year."

Tom smiled and answered,

"Another concert would be perfect!"
