📖 READING
The File That Disappeared
On Monday morning, Daniel arrived at work feeling confident. He had spent the whole weekend preparing an important presentation for a meeting with a new client.
When he switched on his computer, everything looked normal. He opened his presentation folder, but the file wasn't there.
At first, Daniel thought he had saved it in another folder. He searched every document on his computer but couldn't find anything.
Then he remembered that his computer had crashed on Sunday evening just before he finished editing the presentation.
He immediately called the IT department.
"Have you backed up your files?" the technician asked.
Daniel looked worried.
"I'm afraid I haven't."
Fortunately, the technician recovered an earlier version of the presentation from the company's cloud storage.
Daniel lost only a few changes, and the meeting was a success.
Since that day, he has backed up every important file before leaving work.
Now he tells all new employees:
"Save your work often—and always keep a backup!"
