(Inspired by ideas from habit science)
Why Obvious Habits Work
Many people want to build better habits. They want to exercise more, eat healthier food, study regularly, or learn new skills. However, most people fail to keep their habits for a long time. One of the main reasons is simple: the habit is not obvious enough.
Our brain pays attention to things that are visible and easy to notice. If a reminder is hidden, we often forget about it. For example, if a book is inside a drawer, you might forget to read it. But if the book is on your pillow, you will probably see it before you go to sleep.
The objects around us create cues and triggers. These signals tell our brain what to do next. For example, when you see your phone, you might immediately check your messages. When you smell coffee, you might feel ready to start your day.
Because of this, your environment is extremely powerful. Small changes in your environment can change your behavior.
Imagine you want to eat healthier food. If fruit is on the table and sweets are hidden in a cupboard, you will probably choose the fruit more often. The healthier option becomes the easy and obvious choice.
Another useful strategy is called habit stacking. This means connecting a new habit with something you already do every day.
For example:
☕ After I drink my morning coffee, I will read one page of a book.
🪥 After I brush my teeth, I will practice English vocabulary.
💻 After I open my laptop, I will review my daily goals.
When habits become clear, visible, and connected to your routine, they require less effort. Over time, they become automatic.
In other words, if you want to build a good habit, make it obvious.
4. Reading Comprehension 🧠

5. Grammar Focus: Imperatives 📢
