The Most Expensive Rainstorm
Last Saturday, Emma finally decided to buy a new outfit for her cousin's wedding.
She had looked at dozens of dresses online before she visited the shopping centre.
After two hours, she found the perfect dress and a pair of elegant suede boots.
"They're expensive," the cashier said.
"I know," Emma replied, "but they'll last forever."
She paid for everything, held the shopping bags proudly, and walked outside.
Five seconds later...
The sky turned black.
It started raining so heavily that people began running in every direction.
Emma tried to protect her bags, but she couldn't open her umbrella because both hands were full.
She stood under a bus stop, but it was already crowded.
A stranger let her stand under his umbrella.
When she finally arrived home, the boots were completely soaked.
The dress was safe...
but the expensive shopping bag had fallen apart.
Emma laughed.
"I've learned an important lesson today."
Since then, she has never bought suede shoes before checking the weather forecast.
Now she always keeps a waterproof jacket in her car.
